Certification:
During Dr. Vora's cardiac fellowship, he was the only cardiology fellow trained in peripheral intervention and diagnostics. After his cardiac fellowship he spent his time focused on peripheral vascular interventions in another mini fellowship. Dr. Vora then brought his experience to Owensboro where he was the only peripheral interventionist in the area, at that time. Dr. Vora also was the first physician in the area performing many of the now-common percutaneous (minimally-invasive “needle-stick”) arterial and venous procedures such as arterial and venous thrombolysis (dissolving of clot), arterial and venous angioplasty/stenting for blockages.
While striving to stay up to speed with technology he became one of the only cardiologist performing complex deep venous interventions in the state of KY.
Some of these accomplishments include: DVT lysis, rotational atherectomy of coronary and peripheral artery stenosis, and coronary and peripheral arterial LASER procedures.
In addition he was the first in the area to offer a non-surgical closure treatment for varicose veins.
In addition to his own accomplishments he has trained several (more than 200) cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and radiologists in peripheral vascular intervention from 1994 through 2005. He has trained several techs to assist him during non-invasive interventions who have become proficient in their fields.
Because of his expertise, he has served on advisory panel for J&J (Cordis), Guidant (Abbot) and Boston Scientific.
Procedure Expertise:
Dr. Vora is known for complex arterial and venous inteventions. He has always strived to, and excelled, in keeping up with new and upcoming techniques and procedures for vein and artery interventions. His recent accomplishments include being first one in Owensboro offering ovarian/pelvic vein embolization for pelvic pain and and Iliac vein stent for May Thurner Syndrome.
