Tammy Sims, RPSGT

 

Tammy Sims, RPSGT is the Technical Director of Owensboro Advanced Sleep Center.  She is the senior technician who supervises the night technicians and is responsible for ongoing quality control as specified by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She oversees the training of the sleep technicians and is available to handle problems that arise during the course of sleep testing. She also conducts sleep studies on patients in research protocols.
           

Tammy got her start in sleep medicine in 2002 at the Washington University Multidisciplinary Sleep Medicine Center in St. Louis, Missouri.  She rose to the rank of lead technician and later supervisor at that renowned facility which conducts research, clinical care, and physician fellowship training in sleep medicine. She has been registered with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) since 2005. 
           

Over the years Tammy visited family in Owensboro many times and welcomed the opportunity to join the Owensboro Medical Practice in April 2007.  The design and development of Owensboro Advanced Sleep Center was guided by Tammy, Dr. Kuldeep Pandit (our first medical director) and Dr. Kishor Vora and his wife Beena.  The building was constructed in the summer and fall of 2007 and the opened in November 2007. Accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine followed in May 2009.
